Olive Milling Week

 Day-to-day tour

Rich of vineyards and olives trees, Bolgheri is the land of the famous Sassicaia wine and of the italian national poet Carducci. Its closeness to the sea shore affects the taste of its oil. We can access the medieval village with its paved alleys and palaces made of stones. The collection of the olives is made by the end of October until November.

Montalcino is a little village 40km south of Siena on top of a hill. The cultivated areas are mostly used for vineyards, olive groves and cereals. Land of Brunello wine, has a rich historical past. Already at the beginning of November the olives are picked by hand and, on the same day, worked to extract the valuable oil. Its typical bitterness is much appreciated.

Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southerner village of Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti are known for the excellent quality production of the Chianti Classico. The extra virgin olive oil "Terre di Siena" is produced here: fruity smell and taste characterized by bitter and spicy notes. Here around you will not be able to avoid the glamour of the salami.

The truffle hunting experience starts with the tartufaio (truffle hunter) and its faithful trained dog. Lunch or dinner truffle based will be part of the experience!
