D01: PISA Arrival at Pisa airport and pickup of the rented car. Visit of Pisa historical city centre: Piazza dei Miracoli, the Leaning Tower, Baptistery, then to the medieval San Piero a Grado Abbey and free time till evening. Overnight in San Rossore Natural Park resort.

D02: PISA - PIETRASANTA - LUCCA Getting to Forte dei Marmi, where on Sunday and Wednesday it is possible visiting the famous traditional market where to find ceramics, clothes, leather goods and shoes. During any other day, you can spend the morning on the beach. Then, heading the town of Pietrasanta, famous centre for marble sculpture. In the afternoon it is advised a visit to Lucca, walking around this unexpectedly delightful town and find its hidden pearls. Overnight in Lucca.

D03: LUCCA - VOLTERRA - SAN GIMIGNANO Country road to the walled ancient city of Volterra. It was an Etruscan capital, then roman, then medieval. Mid-morning coffee in Piazza dei Priori and heading to the “Manhattan of the Middle Ages”, San Gimignano. You will pass the night nearby, in a charming agriturismo.

D04: SIENA Siena, home to the famous Palio horse race. You can spend the whole day here, visiting the Duomo, the Spedale and other impressive medieval sites, discovering the Contrade (historical sienese city quarters). It is possible to book one of our experienced and authorized tour guides that will explain you, besides the history of the city, the rules and the tradition of the Palio race. Overnight in Siena.

D05: SIENA - VAL D’ORCIA (Unesco Heritage) Heading southward to the Val d’Orcia, home of so many Medieval Monastic Orders. You can pay visit to Monte Oliveto Maggiore and to the unspoilt Abbey of Sant’Antimo founded by Charlemagne. Then onto Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino homeland. We can arrange for you a wine and olive oil tasting. Overnight in a charming agriturismo of the Val d’Orcia.

D06: VAL D’ORCIA (the rolling hills land) Exploring the towns, culture and tastes of the Val d’Orcia and the Senese Crete. You can visit some hamlets and gorgeous medieval cities like Montepulciano, Pienza and San Quirico d’Orcia, spending the rest of the day taking a thermal bath in Bagno Vignoni and having a great dish of pici, sienese tipical thick handmade spaghetti.

D07: FROM INLAND TO THE SEA Visit to the gorgeous San Galgano Cistercian Abbey. Later onto Massa Marittima and its impressive Duomo, enjoying a remarkable panorama on the Tirrenian Sea, Elba island and the Gulf. Then heading to the Templar Church of San Salvatore at Campiglia Marittima. Overnight in the Val Cornia area.

D08: Departure Autoroute from south Tuscany to Pisa airport. Car dropoff and... goodbye!
