Roma

D01: ROME
Arrival in the morning at the airport, meet with our roman local guide. Check in to the hotel. We will start the guided tour of the Città Eterna’s heart: Foro Romano, Colosseo, Via Sacra, Campidoglio. Dinner in a typical roman restaurant in the quarter of Trastevere. Overnight in Rome.

 

Roma

D02: ROME
A whole day dedicated to Rome: Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, the palaces of the Italian Government and the churches. Piazza San Pietro and the Vatican City, its museums guarding secrets thousands of years old. Another colourful roman dinner and overnight in Rome.

   

Val d'Orcia

D03: ROME - SIENA (3 hours)
Driving north through Orcia Valley: sweet rolling hills studded with small hamlets, home of world famous Brunello wine. Arrival in Siena, meeting with the guide to visit Piazza del Campo (place of the famous Palio horserace), the Duomo and its art collection. We will be guests of the Contrada dell’Aquila (one of the old sienese quarters) for dinner, with its people telling us the traditions of Palio rules. Nice walk after dinner. Overnight in Siena.

 

Siena

D04: SIENA - SAN GIMIGNANO - VOLTERRA - PISA
From Siena city centre on the way to Pisa we will discover two outstanding examples of medieval architecture: San Gimignano and its towers (“the New York of the Middle Age”) and Volterra, a walled city, former Etruscan capital (during the fifth century BC, Volterra had 7 km of walls while Athens, in the great era of Pericles, had 6!). Overnight in Pisa.

 

Pisa

D05: PISA - FLORENCE (1 hour)
Let’s meet Pisa, the city of Galileo Galilei and the Normale University! A walk in the center, then the Leaning Tower, the Duomo and Battistero in Piazza dei Miracoli. In the afternoon we’ll move to Florence, capital of Tuscany. Be ready to visit the Museo degli Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Museo Accademia and the marvelous churches of the historical centre. Dinner in local trattoria and overnight in Florence.

 

Firenze

D06: FLORENCE
Full day in Florence. Up the hill to the famous Piazzale Michelangelo and the terrace of Abbazia di San Miniato with its enchanting view, then a walk down to Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, old headquarter of the Medici Government. Free afternoon to enjoy the city, with plenty of time for walking and shopping.Overnight in Florence.

 

Venezia D07: FLORENCE - VENICE
3 hours driving to the Capital of the Veneto region. By taking the ferry on the Canal Grande we’ll start our stay in this magic city, starting from Piazza San Marco with its incredible Basilica and the marvelous Palazzo Ducale. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

 

Venezia

D08: VENICE
All-walking day in the streets and channels (calli) of Venice, incredible city made of 118 islands tied by 150 bridges. By foot, by ferry or by Gondolas, we’ll admire also the Accademia Museum and the Old Jewish Ghetto. Possible excursion to Murano island, capital of handmade glass. 

 

 

Berlin

D09: MORNING FLIGHT VENICE/BERLIN - BERLIN FULL DAY
Arrival in Berlin in the morning: a walk through the capital of Germany where culture is the tool to craft a new identity and the walls became the propaganda for the abstract movement. The city seems to change face and cultural identity at every corner, always stretched in the effort of transforming itself in something new and different.

 

Berlin

D10: BERLIN - COLOGNE (flight)
Be ready to see the Brandeburg Gate and Alexander Platz in the east former quarter and many others historical and artistic places, such as Franzosische Strasse, Marx-Engels Platz, and Marienkirche.

 

Koln Dom

D11: COLOGNE - BRUXELLES BY TRAIN
A visit is due to the Dom of Cologne, symbol of the city, the biggest gothic church in North Europe and holder of the relics of the Magi, according to traditions. In 1996 the Dom became a World Heritage Site. Our journey will continue to Bruxelles by train.

 

Bruxelles

D12: BRUXELLES - PARIS BY TRAIN
The Bruxelles tour starts in the Gran Place, one of the most suggestive squares in the world, and the World Heritage Site of Grot Markt. The majestic Cathedral of Saint Michel and Santa Gudula –protectors of the city– is worth visiting. Then, to the Park of Laeken , home of the modern Atomium, another Bruxelles' icon.

 

Paris

D13: PARIS
Paris is the very symbol of French culture and its prestige in the world. No one can imagine Paris without the outstanding Tour Eiffel, that we’ll be visiting! We will then walk in the Jardin des Tuilleries before entering in the Musée du Louvre, trying to catch a glimpse of the Monna Lisa. A stroll, through the Champs-Elyséé in order to arrive at the Arc de Triomph. 



 

Montmartre

D14: PARIS - NICE (afternoon flight)
Coffee stop at the Fitzgerald favourite coffee bar, Des Deux Magots in Montmartre. Then, a visit to another suggestive museum: the Musée D’Orsay, famous for the many impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Nice.

 

Cote d'Azur

D15: NICE - COTE D'AZUR - CANNES - BARCELONA (BY FLIGHT)
Nice is located on the Mediterranean coast, in the heart of a region of the Cote d’Azur. Stroll in the Promenade des Anglais and visit the Matisse Museum before continuing your journey to Cannes, extremely famous for the annual presence of the International Festival of Cannes. Walk through the Croisette, the seaside walk. Transfer for the flight to Barcelona.

  

Sagrada Familia

D16: BARCELONA
Marvelous city with a medieval old city center. The Ramblas (boulevards) are considered the pulsing spirit of Barcelona. Let yourself go to the ritual of the Spaniards called “paseo” (passage). Then, enjoy Gaudí’s masterpieces Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló. A walk to the Old Port, through Montjuic Hill, ending with a panoramic view over Barcelona, where the night is full of life. Overnight in Barcelona.

 

Madrid

D17: BARCELONA - MADRID (by flight)
Heading to Madrid: the political, economical, artistic and cultural center of Spain. Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon gave the city an impulse for growth; however it was Phillip II of Hasburg that changed its fate and designated it as the capital. Visit of the Palacio Real (Royal palace), the Monasteries de la Encarnacion e de las descalzas and the church of San Isidoro.

 

D18: MADRID - FLY OUT

 

The individual participation fee includes:

- All the transfers by private bus + drive (train)
- Hotels 3-4 stars (Double Occupancy B&B)
- Half Board (dinner in typical restaurants or hotel) 
- English speaking professional guide, other languages as requested
- Medical/baggage insurance

It does not include:

- Entrance charges for museums, churches or other places.
- Single Room supplement 40€ per night.
- Tips, beverages, or any extras
- Supplement Full Board 340€
- International/domestic flights (can be provided - ask for a quotation)
