D01: ROME - VITERBO Car pickup from Roma airport, direction North, towards Cerveteri and the necropolis of Banditaccia, the oldest evidence of the Etruscan-Italic world of the origins. At twilight, nice accommodation in agriturismo near Viterbo.

D02: BOLSENA LAKE - SORANO Around the Bolsena Lake to the surprising Parco dei Mostri di Bomarzo, a unique monumental park with its mythical figures carved in living rock. Then, a visit to Civita di Bagnoregio, one of the most handsome Italian hamlets. Arrival to our agriturismo in the Etruscan area Sorano-Pitigliano-Sovana. Overnight.

D03: SORANO - SOVANA - PITIGLIANO - TUFO AREA Excursion to the volcanic rupestrian environment of Sovana, with the remains of the major Etruscan monuments, and the medieval borgo. Then, walking up from the spring of the river Sileno to the walled city of Pitigliano. You can enjoy a hot bath in there or in Saturnia, in the natural spring waters. Overnight in the same agriturismo.

D04: ETRUSCAN TRACK VULCI Journey along the river Fiora to see the rupestrian church of San Colombano (Patron Saint of the Order of Templars). This was a holy area also in Etruscan times, esteemed fit for healing and used for various rituals. Delightful visit to the town of Vulci. Back to your agriturismo. Optional stop at Saturnia for a thermal bath.

D05: VAL D’ORCIA Heading northwards, through the charming Val d’Orcia with its rolling hills and the crete, the Monastic Orders. Optional but advised visits: Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, the untouched Abbey of Sant’Antimo (said to have been founded by Charlemagne), Montalcino (famous for its world-class wine, Brunello) and then on to Pienza for a dinner in a trattoria. Overnight in Cortona.

D06: CORTONA - SIENA Visit of Cortona hamlet, a big capital during the Etruscan period. Finally, Siena: the Duomo, the Spedale and other visits. We can arrange for you a guided tour with one of our professional guides, and a dinner in one of the Contrade (Sienese quarters - with a detailed explanation of the Palio race and its rules). Overnight right outside Siena.

D07: SIENA - VOLTERRA Morning, back to Siena. Snack and aperitivo outdoors in Piazza del Campo, then to Volterra for a thorough visit (few people know that at the time of Pericles, Athens had 6km of walls and Volterra had 7km!). Spend some time in the central old Piazza dei Priori, taste some local food. Overnight in Volterra.

D08: VOLTERRA - PISA AIRPORT Back to Pisa airport, and car dropoff. OR drive back to Roma airport if preferred. In case of spare time, you can enjoy a coffee or a light lunch in Piazza dei Miracoli or have a short trip to San Piero a Grado Abbey (with an optional stop at the shepard Michele's to buy fresh cheese)...

The individual participation fee includes:
- Large car for the whole trip duration (airport/airport)
